The Holiday Road…

August 14th, 2009 by Chris Baldwin

To pay respects to recently-departed and beloved filmmaker John Hughes, WTC took a trip down holiday road last evening with a viewing of National Lampoon’s Vacation (was Jane Krakowski really a teenager in that movie?!).  I was only 7 when the movie was released but still recall my mother and father laughing themselves to tears while watching it the first time.  Very difficult to choose from one of Hughes’ classics — Ferris; B’fast Club; Planes, Trains, & Automobiles; Uncle Buck; Home Alone.  Hughes was truly an understated icon of the 80′s and left us with poignant scenes and vivid characters ($10 for anyone who can tell me what happened to Long-Duk-Dong).  RIP, John Hughes! and thanks for the memories.
