Paid Post-College Internship

January 12th, 2010 by Esther Weathers

WeTheCitizens (soon to be Mobilization Labs) is in search of smart, web-savvy college graduates looking to jump in and start making a difference in a small, fast-growing internet startup as paid interns for 3-6 months. What in particular are we looking for help with? Well, to name a few things:

  • Interested in honing your sales and marketing skills? Come help our sales team follow up on leads and land some deals of your own.
  • Fancy yourself a social media maven? Love to surf Facebook and Twitter (who doesn’t)? We’re looking for help keeping our social media channels up to date and stocked full of fresh, interesting content.
  • Inspired by brainstorming marketing and branding ideas? We are working on building an awesome new brand that could use your direction and input.
  • Do you have ideas on how campaigns, non-profits, or companies should be leveraging social/new media? You’re a perfect fit to work with our new and existing clients to turn our software and your knowledge into success.

Even if those don’t thrill you, we can probably find something you can help with! More than anything, we are looking for fast learners who aren’t afraid to wear multiple hats and speak up and share an opinion.

OK, so what’s in it for you? Aside from gaining valuable experience and working with an amazing team, we have multiple full-time positions we’re looking to fill that will open up at the end of the internship period. We’re pretty confident that the interns will get first dibs on those opportunities.

What do we do?

Since 2004, WeTheCitizens has been providing web software that pioneers an entirely new genre of technology called “social mobilization”.  Social mobilization combines the viral power of social networking with real-world grassroots action to mobilize large teams of supporters into action on behalf of brands, causes, or political candidates.  Our software has been used by Presidential campaigns, Fortune 500 companies, international non-profits, major motion pictures, and multi-platinum artists to advance the passion of volunteers and fans worldwide.

To apply, email your cover letter, resume, and references to Esther Weathers at esther@wethecitizens.com. Resumes should be submitted by January 20th. The internship starts February 1st.

Are your internships also for international students? I will be graduating with an undergraduate degree on political science and my thesis is about social media and politics 2.0. I would love to help you out! I finish this july but graduate in October.

Is there an office in DC I could go to, for more information? (I will travel to DC this July)

    Thank you
