Our History

The Mobilization Labs story began in 2004. While sharing a meal at The Varsity in Atlanta, Georgia, Caleb Clark and Joe Uhl landed on an idea that would fundamentally alter the way organizations recruited and mobilized supporters into action. Their idea was fueled by software engineering backgrounds and by their hands-on experience with various grassroots causes. Soon, a team of five engineers was assembled, a working prototype built, and a target industry selected — politics. Nine months later, the Mobilization Labs technology had propelled its first candidate to victory in an open U.S. Senate race.

By October 2005, Mobilization Labs (then called WeTheCitizens, LLC) had secured its first round of investment capital and recruited a larger engineering team. The entire technology platform was rebuilt from the ground up as an enterprise system capable of scaling to huge volumes. Over the next several years, this platform, now known as [Wildfire Platform], was beta-tested and fine-tuned on prominent gubernatorial, senatorial, congressional, and U.S. Presidential campaigns across the county.

In the fall of 2008, Mobilization Labs secured its first major deal outside of politics – expanding into the motion picture industry. Today, Mobilization Labs works with a wide range of clients across the entertainment, non-profit, and for-profit spectrums, including multi-platinum recording artists and Fortune 500 companies.

Breakthrough Technology

From the beginning, Caleb and Joe approached the challenges of supporter mobilization from a new angle, and in the process, pioneered the first social mobilization technology that delivers four big breakthroughs:

  • The ability to track everything the organization is doing in real-time and measure its impact, both online and offline, allowing for instant analytics and strategy adjustments.
  • The ability to fully empower supporters with ownership in a cause, letting them to build their own teams and see the real-time impact of their involvement.
  • An accountability mechanism for grassroots tasks, allowing for precise tracking of what a supporter does (or does not do) regardless of proximity.
  • The ability to connect internal databases with the external social web, delivering a CRM technology with complete 360 degree views of every supporter, including thefull social graphs and real-time action history.

Wildfire delivers a complete mobilization solution in a way that other products can’t match. It enables organizations to expand their supporter bases faster, mobilize more people into action, and measure the impact of their grassroots.
