We're Hiring Developers

Monday, January 18th, 2010

WeTheCitizens (soon to be Mobilization Labs) is looking for top-notch software engineers who want to help us build a cutting-edge social mobilization platform. You’ll be joining an energetic and dynamic team of engineers who follow agile development practices and love pushing the boundaries of technology.

Who are we looking for?

  • Smart developers who are excited to learn new technologies and face technical challenges.
  • Developers with strong foundations in computer science and software design.
  • People who want to work in an agile, team-based environment.
  • Our platform is built primarily on Java, so experience with Java web technologies is a must.
  • We use best-of-breed open source technologies, so experience with Spring, Hibernate, Terracotta, and/or PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • We’re always on the lookout for ways to increase productivity, so experience with Groovy, Scala or other languages is a plus.
  • Most of our developers use Mac or Linux and we deploy all of our code to Linux servers, so UNIX/Linux experience is a plus.

What would you be working on?

  • Writing server-side code for high-volume production web applications.
  • Working on Wildfire Platform’s core code, including back-end data management, REST APIs, and database optimization.
  • Building dynamic web interfaces and embeddable widgets using the latest web technologies like JQuery and AJAX.
  • Integrating with other platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, SMS gateways, credit card processors, and VOIP phone systems.

What do we do?

Since 2004, WeTheCitizens has been providing web software that pioneers an entirely new genre of technology called “social mobilization”. Social mobilization combines the viral power of social networking with real-world grassroots action to mobilize large teams of supporters into action on behalf of brands, causes, and political candidates. Our software has been used by presidential campaigns, Fortune 500 companies, international non-profits, major motion pictures, and multi-platinum artists to advance the passion of volunteers and fans worldwide.

We are looking for fast learners who want to work hard and have fun doing it. If that sounds like you, please apply by emailing your cover letter and resume to Jeremy Haile (click name for email address).
